Riley´s Farm Reflection
So my review on Riley’s farm was amazing! I did a lot of things alone and together with all of my class and friends too! But before I explain that I have to say something else.
There is the 1st station ; you pick a partner and you both pick up two thick type of skewers and then they got a little or big barrel type of metal(rings) and they would place it on the two sticks and place them in a “x” type of form and fling them together and the other partner would try and catch the ring. It was fun we didn’t get to go through the whole thing through because we didn’t have enough time to play the whole game, but it was fun. At first I thought that we were going to knit because at home I have the same type of thing except really really small. But then as she went explaining the game I thought ohh this is going to be fun! And it was in fact I enjoyed and thought we should have something like this at school too!
The 2nd station was about I don’t remember exactly but I think that it was krishay or something like that. But anyways we got a wooden kind of knitting thing and then we had to pull a stick over and under some string to weave it together and then pull it up so it looks skinny from the top view and then you should have a gap between the string so you can slide it though and when you have done that you push it down with the stick so the fabric doesn’t have holes in it. When I first saw it I thought we were going to play music with a colorful variety of strings but we ended up sewing I guess you could call it. But I thought why would someone make their own clothes then instead just buying the clothes, but the lady said that you had to pay heavily for them in taxes to King George the III.
The 3rd station was quite different from the others because it was a station with many other stations inside and they were all doing things for the 12 batches of 12 dozen biscuits. It was also a story with many feelings and motion that really wanted to get us working but of all the stations the petition with our initials to stop the red coats to stop what they are doing and to see the error of their ways. There are also other stations like the butter churning station, the flour grinding station and the biscuit station and they all were fun and the story said that if we failed her her life would be put on the line and I thought she was kind to us helping us out if we needed it she was also a hard worker as I could see she was done what she was told (mostly because her life was in danger!)
And those are just some of my top three stations that I liked the most. If I could work there and pick a job it would probably pick the one where we sewed fabric to make patches of little pieces of fabric make by the visitors and kids who would come here.
The American Revolution
was There are many causes that caused the american revolution but first I will tell you the one that I did and then the others :P So I did The Olive Branch Petition. King Gorge was sent this as a note of peace to stop the war from breaking out. The Petition was signed by every on who represented the whole 13 colones. But it was wrote in America... however it was petitioned in Great Britain. It was wrote July 5th, 1775. The last attempt to avoid war was when the invasion of Canada had happened. But King Gorge ignored the letter when it had got to the castle. This got the colones really furious, this of course lead to the Revolutionary war. (Mind you these all happened at different times) 2. The Quartering Act: Back then people would be in danger with the red coats because the red coats were allowed to barge into peoples´ homes and force them to live in the shed or farm house barn. And do you know who passed this type of law?; Of course...King Gorge III. And did you know that back then people would call the houses ¨Quarters¨ because the house was split in quarters!
